Role Purpose
As an Application development Engineer (ADE) you will be responsible for developing and implementing technical solutions for customer problems. You will enjoy an international work environment, with customers mainly in Europe and occasional contacts outside Europe. Your main goal is to identify needs and challenges in the BOPP film value chain, and to translate those ideas into product requirements and business opportunities that create value for Borealis and its customers. In this role you will also closely interact with a variety of functions and departments within Borealis, such as Production, R&D, Sales and Marketing.
Contribution
* As an ADE for BOPP films, you are an expert in PP film and will further specialize into BOPP films for food packaging and technical applications
* You will be part of a growing organization in a dynamic market environment
* You will build, maintain and influence a network in the BOPP film value chain. You will travel to key players in this value chain to establish the right contacts
* You capture and evaluate new business opportunities and translate them into product needs
* You advise customers in their choice of product and help them to develop their business. This involves maintaining the running business by providing technical support and by resolving customer problems
* You help to develop and implement product solutions for the identified needs of your customers and other players in the BOPP value chain.

Skills
* You have an academic degree in Science or Engineering
* Ideally you have 5 years of experience in a relevant business field, preferably in the Polypropylene film business area
* You have commercial feeling to understand and judge the potential value of a proposed solution or business opportunity
* You have the ability to structure and convert findings into immediately applicable recommendations
* You are self-motivated, result-oriented, pro-active, and assertive in your approach
* You are fluent in English
* Good presentation skills and convincing power
* Excellent problem solving skills
